Renewed Curriculum: E-workshops
Currently, the General Education-Adult Sector is implementing a renewed curriculum and a new "Policy on the Evaluation of Learning".
The renewed curriculum is divided into two distinct stages:
- Stage 1 or Common Core Basic Education, covering the first eight years of schooling (literacy, presecondary and first cycle, secondary)
- Stage 2 or Diversified Core Education, providing the prerequisites for vocational training or leading to a Secondary School Diploma or on to postsecondary studies.
The Common Core Basic Education Program offers programs of study that are linked to real-life situations placed within subject areas and comprises Subject Areas, Cross Curricular Competencies and Broad Areas of Learning.
On-going E-workshops will be made available to teachers with the aim of helping them consolidate their understanding of the renewed curriculum.
